Dear Friends,

This is my new blog, well just trying to get in touch with everyone through the internet. I have recently found a new "LOVE" to a place called Maliau Basin "The Sabah Lost World". The first time I was in Maliau was way back in 2005 with my good friend Francis Lo, his brother and another friend. He introduced me to Maliau at the time when it was still difficult to get access to Maliau without a good 4WD vehicles. I fell in love with the place instantly. Driving through the rugged road to enter Maliau, it's difficult not to notice the amazing view of the whole basin but what really caught my attention was the amount of wildlife crossing the road, flying above my head and all the different sounds coming out of the jungle.

Well, folks it would be such a shame if Sabah looses all these beauty in the name of progress and advancement! I have since been back in and out of Maliau 5 times, each time bringing in friends and tourists alike to see this amazing place with their own eyes before it all disappears totally in the name of progress...

As we all know, the possibility of a Coal Powered plant to be built in Sahabat in the district of Lahad Datu is immenent, it is difficult not to get worry about Maliau being considered for Coal mining. As we all know, Maliau holds considerable amount of coal reserved and it is very tempting for the government to mine these for economic reason instead of importing coal from other countries as been promised by the government to preserved Maliau pristine environment.

Hence, I might not have the political power to stop the mining but it is my wish that every Sabahan and as many nature lovers as possible to see Maliau before it disappears in the "smoke"!
